Chennai, November 13, 2025:
In celebration of Children’s Day, Apollo Children’s Hospital, in collaboration with the Apollo Shine Foundation, launched an innovative and heartwarming initiative titled “Happy Hearts” – first of its kind program connecting school students with young patients through letters, smiles, and shared moments of joy.
The Happy Hearts Program aims to foster empathy, connection, and emotional healing by encouraging school students to spend time with paediatric patients, exchange letters of hope, and contribute to a newly unveiled Wish Wall. The wall, now a vibrant centerpiece at Apollo Children’s Hospital, showcases heartfelt messages and drawings created by students from over 10 schools across Chennai. Each note symbolizes a bridge of compassion between children in classrooms and those undergoing treatment.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students who brought handmade cards, interacted with patients, and shared stories, laughter, and encouragement — reminding everyone that healing goes beyond medicine. The young visitors also sang cheerful songs, recited poems, and presented creative activities designed to spread joy among the children receiving care. The hospital wards echoed with music, laughter, and hope, turning the day into a celebration of togetherness and empathy.
Mrs. Shobha Viswanath, Director of Karadi Tales and Miss. Neha Girish, Vijay TV Junior Super Singer, graced the occasion as special guests, adding warmth and inspiration to the celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ilankumaran Kaliamoorthy said, “At Apollo Children’s Hospital, we have always believed that true healing extends beyond medicine, it blossoms through empathy, connection, and care. With Happy Hearts, we are strengthening this bond by bringing together students and young patients in moments of shared joy and understanding. We look forward to carrying this initiative across all Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, nurturing a culture of kindness and emotional healing for every patient."
The launch marks the beginning of a city-wide movement where regular school visits to Apollo Hospitals across Chennai, inspiring students to express kindness and support to children in care through letters, art, and small acts of joy.
With “Happy Hearts,” Apollo Children’s Hospital once again reaffirms its commitment to holistic healing—celebrating not just recovery, but resilience, compassion, and community.
